It has been a week of endless paperwork and demanding deadlines. Not to mention crazy traffic jams and a few problems at home. Fortunately, there is a place called a spa to help you relieve some of that stress. There is a wide selection of services you can choose from ranging from facials to a session of a heated massage rock placed on the body. Whatever treatment you may choose, it will surely help you relax and lighten all the tension in your body.
A spa is a place where you can loosen up for a few minutes or even hours. It is located everywhere especially near homes and workplaces. Although this is a very therapeutic place, it is also your job as a client to do your part to make your spa experience better. Here is some spa etiquette that you should follow:
• Book your spa appointment ahead of time. In this way, your therapist can schedule you in the most convenient time for the both of you. • Come on time for your appointment. It is impolite to be late and you will not have enough time to relax before your sauna or steam bath. • Turn off your blackberry or other phones if you are to begin your treatment session. In doing this, you will avoid bothering other clients who are enjoying their quiet time. • Ask questions and use spa facilities with caution. If you are not familiar with a treatment or how to operate a facility, it is much better to ask for assistance. • If you are scheduled for several treatments, ask the therapist what treatments are recommended to be done first. • Discuss with your therapist any concerns you may have with your requested treatment. For instance, if you decided to have a massage using a heated massage rock, then feel free to ask her questions on the procedure. • It is alright to have a chat with your therapist but you are not obliged to talk to her during the whole treatment. • After a massage treatment, you will be given enough time to get off the table. Some spa facilities will actually allow you to have an afternoon nap but others may not so inquire first on the facilities' regulations before doing so. • It is recommended to give a 10-15% tip to your massage therapist. If you are pleased with her service you can offer her more. You can also show appreciation by recommending her to your family and friends.
A spa experience is truly heavenly especially if you've experienced a very stressful week at home and at the workplace. It alleviates body pains and relaxes the mind, body and spirit. It is nice to give yourself a little pampering time once in awhile after working so hard and subjecting yourself to the tough demands of your life.
